Rosemount Australian Fashion Week Spring Summer 2011/2012

I cant believe its that time of the year already but RAFW is back! It's winter starts to loom we can enjoy a taste of what is to come this summer!

Let's kick off with day 1

Zimmerman have brought us a clean collection this season keeping trend with straight lines and soft neutrals. The collection is slightly reminiscent of life on the prairie with soft linens adorned with crisp, doilie-like fabric scrolls.

is this Jamie-lee?

Bec & Bridge show us that tangerine is here to stay. The happy citrus has made it's way into shorts and dresses and juxtaposes the print trend that we are seeing again this season. Grab your fedora and your patent nudes and head to the beach!

Alex Perry shows us structured punchy hues with bold lines and colour blocking.

Arnsdorf. Mint, vanilla, mocha and licorice. All items you would expect to read on an a cafe menu. Well cafe no, but menu yes! The Spring/ Summer menu of Arnsdorf 2011 is simply mouth watering! Pasel colours, soft chiffon white, bias draping and cold shoulders are all key elements of this amazing collection.

love the book-like clutch!

LMFF 2011 DAY 1 - FASHION FULL STOP

In a herd of gazelle the worker bees fly around fluffing and primping the wearable art that is couture. It's LMFF kids and we are in for an exciting week!!!

The energy backstage was electrifying as the show was pieced together with musical performances, dancers and of course runway. 350 garments were on display last night and every piece out shone the last. Each outfit was meticulously put together by magazine editors and stylists. (cough cough vogue)

The show was an ode to fashion, a retrospective visiting the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and the now.

Heres some footage for last night- the finished product. amazing!

... a few snappy pics from backstage, unfortunately they are all from behind, but hey better than nothing oui?

Headlining was none other than Australia’s newest model sweetheart, Samantha Harris and boy did she shine. Backstage she was quiet and reserved, mainly standing alone and focusing on the job at hand. When the show started she was transformed into an almost Amazonian beauty.

Tall slim and utterly gorgeous. I made it my mission that night to get a photo with her and although the quality is seedy (thankyou poor backstage lighting, smoke machine and iphone) the photo is one i'll treasure.

Samantha and I
note the similarities in the chubby cheeks! The one time in my life I have been proud to have chubby cheeks!
yep- i'm owning that!

Check out Samantha in 2006...

So to wrap it up here are a heap of fantastic photos from last night taken by fashion photographer Lucas Dawson.

enjoy
