Tonight I attended the LMFF volunteer briefing session. For those of you not quite down with the acronym its the Loreal Melbourne Fashion Festival. I have always dreamed about working backstage at this fashion festival and never did I actually believe that I would have this amazing opportunity to not only be part of the team but to be able to work backstage as a model dresser... i die. As you may have noticed this is my first time at LMFF and I can barely contain my excitement/ fright.
Girls from all walks of life attended the briefing session with a few guys scattered through the group. I was surprised/ disappointed to see some girls wearing thongs and not actively displaying any interest in fashion, but hey who am I to judge. There were some beautiful girls- muse worthy. One in particular sat across the isle from me. Long middle parted dark hair, plum lipstick, suede tan boyfriend blazer, cuffed jeans and brown oxfords with a chunky heel- gorgeous! If I had a camera or could pull off the whole "hi can I take your picture for my blog" I would have taken her photo. ah well.
Over 1125 people applied to become volunteers this year and only just over 300 were chosen- how exciting is that? Australia now has the audience and means to put on a fashion festival that is now internationally recognized and coveted by Australia.
I was planning to capture every moment of my fashion week experience but unfortunately no cameras or camera phones are allowed backstage due to copyright- devo :( So I will just have to re-tell and beef my experience up with any non-backstage pics I can manage!
