The Last of the Travel Diaries #2

n Sunday the 5th of August I was surprised by five of my Australian friends who all quite randomly appeared on my island paradise, and I have to say that it was a great experience to be able to share I place I love so much with people from home.  I was slightly worse for wear when I went to meet them at the ferry after hurling the remainder of the prior night hours earlier.

The week involved copious amounts of alcohol (standard) and many hours lounging by one of the many beaches located on the island. The presence of my friends also gave me the courage to rent a car and drive on around the island. I have to say driving on the opposite side of the road and attempting to change gears with my right hand rather than left was an interesting experience. Thankfully, no people or parked scooters were harmed in my learning experience!

We also hired a boat on the last day of their stay and visited the other side of the island to see the Papanikolas Cave and to swim in the bays located on Skorpios, the island owned by Aristotle Onassis and Jackie Kennedy-Onassis. This island is private property and you are unable to step foot on the beach. You are however permitted to swim offshore. Their last day was ended with an outing to Precious Club for a club night called Wet my Mind where we scared the residents of Meganisi with our rendition of Niggas in Paris.
